| The glass blowing techniques
at Gabriel Glass combine ancient glass blowing methods with new
technologies and modern materials. Molten glass in gathered from
the glass furnace on a steel blowpipe. It is then brought to the
Gaffers bench where it is worked from a liquid state, adding color,
and transforming into a solid form. I have two assistants that
work for me. They are both highly skilled and have ten years experience
between them. Producing a piece takes timing and practice, anticipating
each move, and ignoring the blistering heat and smoke generated
by the 2000 degree temperatures.
